Ampleforth College offers an impressive range of sports pitches and courts for hire, set within the stunning surroundings of the North York Moors. From team training and fixtures to residential sports camps and one-off tournaments, our facilities are maintained to a high standard and suited to schools, clubs, and community groups.

Available Facilities Include:

• 15 all-weather tennis courts, perfect for training, fixtures, and summer camps.
• 8 netball courts clearly marked and well-maintained for matches and drills.
• Full-size all-weather hockey astroturf - this pitch is floodlit, making it ideal for evening use during winter months—perfect for training sessions and fixtures outside daylight hours.
• 11 rugby pitches, including the Dallaglio Match Ground, named in honour of Old Amplefordian and former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio, this prestigious pitch is ideal for competitive play and pre-season training.
• 5 cricket pitches and 7 cricket squares, immaculately presented for fixtures, tournaments, and summer practice.
• 6 outdoor cricket nets & 4 indoor nets, available year-round for focused batting and bowling sessions.
• 400m athletics track - a full-size track suitable for school competitions, training, and athletic development.
• All-weather equestrian facility, a professionally maintained arena ideal for riding schools, demonstrations, and training clinics.

Flexible Hire Options

Our sports facilities can be booked for:

• One-off use – matches, training sessions, tournaments
• Residential sports tours and camps – with on-site accommodation and catering
• Evening use – some facilities are available for hire during termtime evenings, ideal for clubs or training groups with after-school schedules
