Ampleforth College offers a range of distinctive event spaces set within a beautiful and historic campus in the heart of North Yorkshire. Whether you're planning a school event, language course, corporate meeting, or a community gathering, our facilities combine character, flexibility, and practicality.

Our key event spaces include:

• Theatre: A fully equipped, traditional-style theatre perfect for drama productions, lectures, film screenings, and presentations. Ideal for school performances or community theatre groups seeking a professional setting. This historic venue has hosted countless student productions over the years – including performances by former student and acclaimed actor James Norton – making it a truly inspiring space for any event.

• Performing Arts Centre: A modern venue designed specifically for musical performances, rehearsals, and recitals. This acoustically enhanced space is perfect for choirs, orchestras, and music workshops. This space also has a sprung floor, ideal for dance classes. 

• Alcuin Room: A tiered lecture theatre with built-in AV facilities, ideal for talks, training sessions, and educational events. Popular with language schools, academic groups, and corporate clients.

• Big Study: One of our most impressive spaces, high ceilings and historic charm the Big Study offers a grand setting for larger gatherings, exhibitions, receptions, and conferences.

• Library: A beautiful and atmospheric space ideal for smaller gatherings, talks, readings, and intimate receptions. The Library is furnished with exquisite, hand-carved furniture by renowned local craftsman Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, whose signature oak pieces bring a sense of heritage, warmth and quiet grandeur to the space. It offers a truly distinctive setting that reflects the College’s long-standing cultural and academic traditions.

• The Windmill: Our on-site pub, perfect for informal and social gatherings, and an alternative dining venue.
